Made this piece for 's contest. Had to take a song and illustrate it in the art nouveau style. Originally, I wanted to do the entire Skyrim soundtrack.... LOL. But, I was thinking to myself one night and it dawned on me... Oh Land's "Wolf and I" ( [link] ). I love the song and the lyrics are beautifully haunting. After I had decided on it, well there was no letting it go haha.

The song is about two lovers that cannot be together because of who they are (the wolf and the moon). I wanted to draw both their "human" and "actual" forms, the distance between them, the eternal night that surrounds them, and the longing to be with one another even though they know they cannot. Even though they share the night together, they can't ever physically be together, bound by the earth and the sky. Both of them join with the landscape to show their place and binding to where they belong, but there's a stream and two waterfalls that still connect them together. No matter the distance, they'll always have that love for one another.

I also wanted to dedicate this piece to a good friend of mine, ~EpicJuice. He's been a constant source of inspiration for me and although he lives no where near me, his presence in my life is something I will always cherish. You can be a world apart from someone and still consider them a best friend. So while I know I can't be there in person to let you know all of this, I hope that at least this shows you a little bit.
